About the Designer
Temma Dahan-Newman truly lives in her world. It’s a world where her suitcase is always packed and her passport is at the ready. Her vacation and travel pieces are designed with the globetrotting woman in mind – those who always alight at the world’s most luxurious spots looking effortlessly chic.
Temma, her husband and children live in Santa Monica, California, bordering Venice and not far from the coast’s iconic Malibu beach. An active mother of three, the entire family enjoys the outdoor beach lifestyle at the nexus of the California casual “skate and surf” culture.
A graduate of New York University, where she studied Art History and Fine Art, Temma also graduated from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. She is the recipient of the Gen Art “Fresh Faces in Fashion” award for her Temma Dahan Handbag line, and has been featured editorially in Vogue, Allure, Elle, Glamour and Cosmo magazines
Inspired by exotic locales – the early morning dawn in Tulum, the afternoon surf breaks in Montauk and the sunset waves in Malibu, her simple, streamlined silhouettes are the very essence of modern dressing. You’ll find 9seed easily transitions from casual daytime to dinner-ready, with the addition of a belt, sexy sandals and a beautiful bangle.
Working with luxurious and sustainable fabrics, chosen to be comfortable as well as beautiful, Temma creates with color, her keen eye discerning nature’s loveliest shade combinations.
Temma’s inspirations include the International Jet Set scene of the Sixties, where icons Marisa Berenson and Bianca Jagger set the style stage – whether in Morocco, Thailand or Tangier. Current style influencers, top models and actresses – Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid, Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kourtney Kardashian and Instagram fashion star Rocky Barnes – are all 9seed fans.

Found in over 300 select retailers, both online and in boutiques, 9seed is featured on Shopbop.com and Clic in St. Barth (French West Indies) and East Hampton, New York. Designs can also be found at The Four Seasons Hotel boutiques and The One and Only.
9seed as a company takes into consideration the impact of fashion on the environment. We use 100% cotton as well as linen and other natural fabrics such as Lyocell, an eco-friendly rayon, which is fully biodegradable and can be dyed to 9seed’s high quality standards. 9seed also works with environmentally friendly dye houses that re-use and recycle water to further continue the fashion production process with regard to the environment. Additionally, decorative trimmings are sourced from vintage or dead stock. All 9seed designs are hand-cut and hand-sewn in Los Angeles.
